Marc Riley 6music Session (11/08/10)

HMHB recorded five tracks for Marc Riley, including four new songs:
  1. Tommy Walsh's Eco-House
  2. R.S.V.P.
  3. Left Lyrics In The Practice Room
  4. Joy Division Oven Gloves
  5. L'Enfer C'Est Les Autres
The first four were broadcast on Marc Riley's programme, the last appeared at the end of Gideon Coe's show that followed. Both shows are available on the BBC iPlayer.

Perennial reviewer Roger Green has, er, reviewed the Marc Riley segment:

"I was busy doing my ironing while HMHB played four songs on Marc Riley's show on BBC's station 6 Music. There was plenty of radio banter with Riley who sounds more like a proper DJ with every day. It's a long time since he was Mark Radcliffe's sidekick. Nigel did the majority of talking on behalf of the band with (I think) Carl also chipping in. There was talk of the possibility of a new CD later in the year and plenty of messages from fans. And there was a bizarre tale of Michael Jackson wearing a HMHB t-shirt when he died. Yeah, right. Three of the four songs were new ones. All brief and to the point and the standard you would expect."

I think the 'new CD' may appear a bit later than 'later in the year'...

JDOG at no.56 (12/04/10)

Joy Division Oven Gloves made it all the way no.56 in this week's singles chart...

JDOG update (07/04/10)

There's an article in the Guardian about the 6 Music campaign, and Geoff Davies has a few word on the band's behalf.

In this week's official midweek chart update, JDOG was nowhere to be seen in the top 40...

BBC 6 Music and HMHB (18/03/10)

You're all no doubt aware of the BBC's announcement of their plans to close down 6 Music and the Asian Network, the protest groups that have formed to save them, and the clamour for HMHB's Joy Division Oven Gloves to be propelled into the charts to advertise this. Rather than repeat the ever-changing news here, it's easier to point to the various Facebook groups and websites: But having said that, here's a few highlights so far relating to HMHB:
