Roger Green:

Makes a change to have a leisurely half-hour drive to a gig. This was the band's first gig in Leeds for many a year and, as usual, brought back happy memories of times gone by at the much missed Duchess in the middle of town. Still, that's how it goes.

Calvin Party were the support just for a change. Some fine tunes as ever. HMHB were merely spectacular. It felt like they were going to play all night - I timed their whole performance at just short of two hours. Nigel picked out what he reckoned was "the face of Home Bargains" in the crowd. And it was obvious that the guy behind the glass in Twenty-Four Hour Garage People was a big Meatloaf fan on this occasion. I also liked the scream of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" when the smoke machine was switched on. Much banter with the crowd, but as usual I either forget it, or can't hear it in the first place. You had to be there.

Tonight's songs were:

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel
Running Order Squabble Fest
