Ashton-Under-Lyne, Thu 17th February (18/2/00)

Neil Woodhead:

Another excellent evening at this small venue in Tameside. The Witchwood holds about 200 and has a good selection of beer to help the evening off to a good start.

The crowd were slow to begin with, but once the ale flowed, the moshpit filled up and thronged to the sounds of Fred Titmus, Vitas... and the infamous Trumpton Riots.

All evening Nigel stunned both the crowd and Neil with his little ditties - although Tranmere Rovers were rarely mentioned. Wait until Leeds when they've got the cup!

Again we had Irk The Purists, and the new album 'Angling Ballads of Ibiza'which is now due late March / early April is eagerly awaited by all.
